Demand to subsidise Edgbaston Parking

This car park was formerly a Council facility providing free community parking, but after redevelopment, shoppers and residents now face paid-only access (up to $30 per day). Local businesses report declining trade, and the new facility is underutilised. We urge the Council and TfNSW to:
✅ Reinstate a 3-hour free parking window for local residents, shoppers, and visitors;
✅ Pilot a shared-cost subsidy or voucher system with Georges River Council;
✅ Release parking usage and financial data to the community;
✅ Engage directly with residents and businesses to design a fair and practical solution.

Keep one-hour free parking at MacMahon Street, Treacy Street, and Gloucester Road car parks

These car parks help local businesses and quick visits to the Hurstville CBD. Let’s keep our town centre accessible, welcoming, and business-friendly.

We urge the Council to:

✅ Pause the implementation of the removal of free parking from 1 August 2025;

✅ Waive fines for non-payment during the review period;

✅ Engage with local businesses and residents before making any final decisions.
